ABOUT:
For 20+ years, Lewis owned LaBrashe' Gallery of Seattle, and wore many hats-designer, curator, and artist-largely working with textiles, custom designing hand-woven wool and silk Tibetan rugs.
Recently, Lewis decided to retire and devote his time to painting fine art.
Lewis' long-time hobby was photography. You would often find him either at the Seattle or Edmonds waterfront capturing the beauty of the sunsets. "Once I realized I could not recreate that which was already perfect, I decided to work with the colors within." Starting with acrylics, Lewis wanted to maintain a fluidity to the overall design. This gave a very natural organic feeling to the piece. The goal was to give a relaxing peacefulness to the viewer and to soften the overall texture of a given space.
